The easiest way to make a dirty pool look clean is to vacuum it. All pools should be vacuumed on a regular basis. Vacuum heads attach to the telescopic pole, and then a vacuum hose is attached to the vacuum head. The pole and vacuum head are then lowered into the pool. There are two different types of vacuum heads – gunite vacuum heads which have wheels and are weighted for concrete pools, and vinyl vacuum heads which have brushes instead of wheels for vinyl lined or soft tile pools.

Follow the instructions below:

Step 1:

Attach vacuum hose and pole to vacuum head. Submerge unit in pool.

Step 2:

Hold other end of hose over water return. Hose will fill with water, driving out all air trapped in hose.

Step 3:

While holding hose below water, place the vacuum plate into the skimmer, leaving the leaf basket in place. Quickly attach hose to elbow fitting*. You are now ready to vacuum.

*Note: If your skimmer was not supplied with an elbow fitting, simply take off the skimmer cover and put the vacuum hose directly on to the vacuum plate.

How They Work
Swimming pools lose energy in a variety of ways, but evaporation is by far the largest source of energy loss. Evaporating water requires tremendous amounts of energy. It only takes 1 Btu (British thermal unit) to raise 1 pound of water 1 degree, but each pound of 80ºF water that evaporates takes a whopping 1,048 Btu of heat out of the pool.

Normal Pool Cover

A pool cover is a large sheet of plastic made up of special material. Plastic meets the requirement of being a vapour barrier. But a large sheet of plastic that you get from the lumber store is probably not your best choice. It will be very difficult to handle and store, it tears easily, and sunlight will deteriorate it rapidly. You can use a sheet of plastic, but it will be very inconvenient and it will probably only last 1 to 2 seasons maximum.

It's best to use a cover designed specifically for swimming pools. They're made of special materials, such as uv-stabilized polyethylene, polypropylene. They can be transparent or opaque. Covers can even be light or dark colored.

Special Solar Pool Cover

Potent’s Solar Pool Cover is designed to be used as a floating swimming pool cover that helps heat swimming pools while preventing heat loss and evaporation water loss.

Its appearance is one of a flat sheet of plastic film, which is a matt carbon black colour on one side, with a silvery white appearance on the other.

1.Primarily the cover is designed for the black side to face the sun (heating mode), but can be used ‘upside down’ so as to all but eliminate pool heating should the pool water already be at the desired user temperature.

2. Dimensions

Potent’s Solar Pool Cover is remarkably thin, measuring just 0.12mm thick. Despite this, it is as strong as conventional ‘bubble’ covers up to 6 times and will last just as many years.

3. Lamination Structure.

Potent’s Solar Pool Cover is made up of 5 layers. Starting at the top, they are:-

1. Protection layer, UV and chemical resistance layer. Clear in colour, >99% UV transmission.

2. Solar Absorbency layer, carbon black in colour, UV energy absorbent >95%.

3. Internal structural layer, black in colour, used to provide   additional strength to sheet.

4. Heat Reflective layer, silvery white in colour, used to help reflect    heat back into the water.

5. Protection layer, UV and chemical resistance layer. Clear in colour, >5% UV transmission.

Layers are heat fussed together during 2 the stage manufacturing process and are guaranteed to never delaminate.
